Writer's Block: Rare Condition

Do you suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia or know anyone who does?
I  don't have a strong fear of Friday the 13th, but I have a little more respect than I used to.

One Friday the 13th many years ago was going particularly well. Nothing bad happened at all, and a few things went positively well. I remarked to several people that there was clearly nothing to this Friday the 13th business, since I hadn't had a shred of bad luck all day.

When I got home that night there was a raccoon in my bedroom.

Um...I'm sorry, but is that a bad thing? I don't know anything about raccoons in bedrooms. Yeah, poor silly privileged Nancy. :D
Hmmm. I guess they don't have raccoons in New Zealand. At any rate, it's a wild animal and as such isn't supposed to be in the house. There's also a risk it could be rabid (although this one was scared enough of me to make me think it wasn't.)

They are about the size of a fox, maybe a little bigger. So it's present meant there was a racoon-sized hole somewhere and the house was in need of major repairs.
Oh, okay. I knew what a raccoon was, but didn't know the bad things that came from having one in your house.
I guess it was dumb to act like you didn't know what a racoon was. If I know what a kiwi is, someone in New Zealand would know what a raccoon is. Apologies for that.

Anyway, I just consider it a nuisance for a wild animal to get into the house. Or bad luck, if you will.
No, it's okay.

...I didn't expect too many Americans to know what a kiwi is either. :)
That's awesome.
