Milton Friedman, RIP

Milton Friedman, a tireless champion of individual freedom and free market economics  is dead today at the age of 94. He had the ears of Presidents Nixon, Ford and Reagan. He tried to talk Nixon out of his asinine wage and price controls, but to no avail. Other presidents followed his advice a little more closely and with better results.

When Friedman first came on the scene, Keynesian economics was in vogue, and it showed in the economy. I still remember the stagflation of the 70s. The monetarist policies he advocated helped greatly. I hope his contributions are remembered and studied for many years to come.
