Writer's Block: Most memorable concert

What was the most memorable concert you ever attended? What made it so magical?

Elle and I used to see Hypnotic Clambake an awful lot. Imagine They Might Be Giants as a jam band, or maybe early Camper Van Beethoven with an accordion player. All of the shows we saw bring back pleasant memories for me, but the most memorable was probably the one at Green Acres Music Hall in Bostic NC (near Forest City and Stone Mountain.) GAMH, as it's name suggests, is a shack on a plot of land in the middle of nowhere.

There has never been anything to compare to being in an abandoned barn with a lovely lady listening to Hypnotic Clambake's unique mix of klezmer, bluegrass, and lots of other stuff. One of the highlights of the evening was the traditional line dance during their signature song The Feldmans, in which the line went outside, circled the building, and came back in. It took a while because there were lots of people, and also because they jammed for an unusually long time.

It was an unusually good show by an unusually good band.
