Today In History

Today is the anniversary of two historical events. In 1969, a human being walked on the moon for the first time. In 1993, Clinton White House counsel Vincent Foster was found dead in Fort Marcy Park, supposedly a suicide.

Interestingly, both of these events sparked conspiracy theories. Some say we didn't really land on the moon and it was all a hoax. Others say Vincent Foster didn't really commit suicide in Fort Marcy Park.

On the first matter, I am pretty much convinced we really did land on the moon. It seems to me that faking it convincingly would be as hard as landing on the moon. Also there were subsequent landings on the moon. I can't believe we faked all of them. There would be too much risk of getting caught.

As to the second matter, I am skeptical. It probably doesn't matter much because people don't talk about Vincent Foster's death much anymore. But I did discuss my skepticism in an earlier post on the matter.
