September 11, 6 years later

Today, as at least a few people know, is the 6th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. For many, it is a classic "where were you when it happened" day. I described my own memory of the day in a previous entry.

There are lots of competing theories about what really happened that day. I don't know if the official version is 100% correct, but I believe that we really were attacked by terrorists that day, and I believe that America was not the bad guy. My biggest problem with the alternative theories
is that none of them explain what happened to the 4 planes that were hijacked that day. Four commercial airlines is an awful big elephant to have in your living room.

You don't have to be a bushbot or any kind of conservative to dismiss the 9/11 conspiracy theories. No less a Bush critic than Alexander Cockburn  rejects them.  You don't even have to have a problem with conspiracy theories in general. For instance, I once found a page made by a Kennedy assassination skeptic who also has a page rejecting the alternative theories on 9/11.

One of my favorite political writers, Daniel Flynn, made an interesting post on his blog today about 9/11. (Well, strictly speaking, it's a bunch of links to interesting posts).

Finally I found a really good audio memorial to the 9/11 victims. I'm putting a link below.
